The 1995 championship is finally underway. Good to see some new faces racing this season, and also sad to see some people leaveh notably last year's champion Martin Kift. The new faces are also leading the running from the word go. It's difficult to tell just how the new guys compare with the old hands at this early stage as almost everyone seemed to run into something on this fast street circuit. Most damage was done to the front wings. Whether this is because the cars are more fragile or because of the close proximity of the walls, it is difficult to tell. Dave Shaw prooved that the cars are not that fragile however. Trying to outbrake a car on the main staight, he left it too late and had to slam on the brakes and slid majestically into the wall. Suffering no damage he had a very lucky escape. Many others were not so lucky. Notably Mathias lost concentration on lap 79 crashing heavily into the wall at the end of the back straight, and Anthony had to stop 3 times to replace his front wing. It worth noting that everyone made it throught the first corner ok. Those who were around last year will remember well the fun that was had starting at the back of a slow computer field. That problem has definitely been solved, and has prooved that all the mucking about with the rules was worth it after all.
